The Grace Scholarship: In Memory of Malaya Grace Hammond

Sometimes dreams take a little time to come to fruition, and this scholarship is a perfect example of what it looks like to wait on God’s timing. Our lead team has been tossing around the idea of a college scholarship fund for years, specifically for students who are planning to go into creative arts, ministry, or leadership. We are already investing heavily in our future artists and leaders, and this seemed like a logical next step. We’ve been waiting and praying, and the Lord used two recent events to help us see that now is the time.

First, we produced the premier of The Princess and the Shoemaker in June, a musical written by former Reclaim students Hannah Chandler, Sophia Mills, and Ella Plante. Their desire was to raise funds for Reclaim scholarships, and they inspired some big donations. We have given over $15,000 in scholarships to people attending Reclaim this year and we still have funds left. So with that extra financial blessing we have a good foundation.

Second, we tragically lost one of our students, Malaya Grace Hammond, in the hill country flood of July 5. As we grieved, we began praying about how to honor her memory, and a generous donor offered to give more seed money to start a scholarship fund in her memory. Malaya’s parents graciously allowed us to name the scholarship fund after her, with the dream of remembering her every year as we send a student on to further their education in arts or ministry.

Our plan is to give our first scholarship in May 2026 while we raise money to start an endowment fund. We need about $100,000 to appropriately fund it, and we’re trusting the Lord to provide. In the meantime we will give scholarships with the funds we have already collected, because the Lord has clearly opened the door and now is the time! We are thankful for the next generation of leaders, and this is an incredible opportunity for our community to invest in them! We invite you to donate by clicking the “SCHOLARSHIP DONATIONS” button below. All donations up to $25,000 will be matched by an anonymous supporter.

Help us foster a love for the arts in a Christ-centered environment.

Reclaim Arts Academy is dedicated to training young artists and developing Christlike leaders who will impact the world for God’s glory. We exist to reclaim the arts for Christone student, one production, one transformed life at a time.

Your generosity strengthens a thriving, faith-centered community where students are mentored, encouraged, and challenged to grow. Through music, theater, dance, visual arts, and leadership development opportunities, we equip students not only to excel creatively but to lead with humility, integrity, and confidence.

Every gift directly supports this mission. Donations help us create dynamic productions, expand our programs, invest in high-quality equipment, offer scholarships, and build a community where students feel known, supported, and inspired to use their gifts for Christ.

Your support is more than financial—it is kingdom impact. Thank you for partnering with us as we disciple creative leaders and cultivate a community where faith, excellence, and artistry flourish.

What People Are Saying
